InstaFiling is a technology enabled compliance services firm supporting MSMEs and start-ups’ across India with GST returns, income tax, TDS and TCS, financial statements, and advisory. The industry backdrop features rapid digitisation through GST and ROC portals, e-invoicing, and cloud accounting, yet execution is challenged by regulatory churn, clustered deadlines, and uneven client digital readiness. InstaFiling’s central decision is how to blend process standardisation, workload smoothing, and AI assisted reconciliation to lift first pass accuracy, reduce rework hours, increase on time filings, and protect margins in a price sensitive market. Students will work with an exhibit-driven data pack to baseline current performance, identify bottlenecks in client data intake and reconciliation, and compare three strategy paths automation and standardisation, workload smoothing and upskilling, and client segmentation and enablement. The analysis culminates in a ninety-day pilot with a scorecard and a Client Compliance Reliability Score to prioritise effort and align service levels. The case equips learners to integrate process redesign, analytics, and human in the loop controls, quantify trade-offs under uncertainty, and craft recommendations that balance efficacy, cost, and adoption risk for a professional services context serving diverse MSME clients.
